How to access on available private and public funds in Europe;
recur to private banking and gap financing in different European
countries;
evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the
activity and build a business plan for their project;
become familiar with legal issues on copyright;
think ahead when planning to enter international co-productions

3: MARKETING AND DISTRIBUTION IN DEVELOPMENT
Digital rights managements and new possibilities of distribution
in the digital environment;
preparing a presentation of our project for its dedicated
market;
co-production markets and forums with a particular focus on
documentary-related events;
distribution of documentaries;
distributors and sales companies, pre-financing, distribution
strategy

The pilot edition of the programme, to be implemented in
2009, will be structured as follows:

Call for producers with projects in CBCC countries starting
October 2008
2. Pre-selection of producers and projects on behalf of
CBCC coordinators in
accordance to selection criteria (October – November
2008)
3. Selection of producers and projects on behalf of the
Selection Committee in Torino
in November 2008
4. Communication of results to producers December 2008
5. Residential workshop to be held in Italy for 7 days in
June 2009
6. Follow-up of projects
7. Meeting of Selection Committee for selection of projects
to participate in ECAD
(European Cinema and Audiovisual Days)
8. Communication of results to producers
9. Participation in ECAD Torino November 2009.
The programme is targeted to producers of the CBCC countries.
The residential workshop will be held in Italy and the selected
producers will participate with their projects in the ECAD
co-production market to be held in Turin in November 2009.
The subject matters that will be covered are those classically
linked with the
development phase of a project, and namely: script analysis
and dramaturgy; Budgeting and financing; legal aspects from
securing rights to co-production agreements; packaging and
pitching.
Selected projects will be either documentaries or feature
films, with preference for projects that, while clearly
expressing the cultural diversity of the CBCC area, also
demonstrate a clear international potential.
